You might have noticed our logo. In September 2000, when all the conversations were about the new millennium we decided to launch our new company. Graham’s 4 year old daughter Martha got out her colouring pens and ‘the house’ emerged - it’s unique, a little bit different but then so are we!
What the logo tells you is that we are an independent company, confident in being at the forefront of our industry, approachable and most importantly you can trust us.
It’s easy to spot Stonehouse! Look out for ‘the house’ at the most prestigious development sites in London, the conservation hamlets of rural Oxfordshire or buzzing along the motorways as we travel to our next challenge.
Graham Stone BSc, AIMMM, CSTDB, CSSW
Director & Surveyor
Graham has over 30 years professional experience. With a BSc in Timber Technology, he worked for a national company before launching Stonehouse 18 years ago. His aim was to deliver innovative thinking, high quality surveying and workmanship within the Industry. Graham is a CSSW waterproofing examiner having been the first person to pass in 2005! Graham is a registered Waterproofing Design Specialist as recommended by BS8102:2009. Graham is also a Trustmark Ambassador.
Richard Allen CSTDB, CSSW
Richard has built his experience over 25 years in the industry working swiftly through the ranks becoming the appointed specialist surveyor to the Royal Estate of Sandringham. Specialising in complex and challenging basement waterproofing projects, Richard is a registered Waterproofing Design Specialist as recommended by BS8102:2009.
Bruce Madden CSTDB, CSSW
Bruce has worked for Stonehouse for over 10 years, mentored by both Graham and Richard. He achieved ‘Student of the Year Award’ from the PCA in 2014 and has exceptional technical knowledge having progressed within Stonehouse from operative to foreman and now as a fully qualified surveyor.
If you phone our offices you will speak to our administration team led by our office manager Penny with Angela overseeing contracts and Mari our accounts. All our admin staff are standing by to welcome new and existing customer enquiries.
Our admin team provide invaluable support for the surveyors, and operatives to make sure all contracts flow smoothly. Their work was recently acknowledged as ‘the best in our industry’ by the PCA (Contractor of the Year 2015).

We have a large team of loyal, hardworking and talented craftsmen. All are directly employed and managed by two working foremen. Our employees are highly-valued and we continually invest in furthering their skills by regular seminars and training. You will notice our high standards by the distinctive vans, company uniform, prompt and courteous service and the meticulous standards we apply.

Our staff are constantly undergoing training whether through the PCA, or internally using our dedicated training room. We put investing in our staff at the top of our priorities as a company.
Our regular health and safety meetings are supplemented by external trainers visiting our offices to cover asbestos awareness, first aid, PASMA and electrical safety. We also undertake product training provided by our suppliers targeted at either the surveying team or the foremen and operatives.
