The basement was formed as a concrete Type B barrier to water - the concrete had a water-resistant additive in the mix. It was not however waterproof, and the basement flooded.

All finishes were stripped out of the basement to expose the concrete shell. There was visible evidence of water penetration through construction joints – the manufacturer of the waterproof additive carried out some resin injection as part of their obligations but this was inadequate and still the structure leaked. We completed additional reinforcement works using Vandex BB75E and fitted a full cavity drain membrane system, all funded by client’s NHBC insurance.
