Diagnosis

This residential block of flats, features prominent balconies to the front elevation.

On inspection, the balconies were not water tight and the fall was towards the building. This resulted in water penetrating each apartment. Water saturated the concrete then escaped, together with free lime running down the glass fronts and depositing as lime scale. 

 

Solution

We stripped all areas and, after correcting the falls and improving the drainage, we re-waterproofed using Acriflex Winter. As this was completed during the winter months, our clients wrapped the access scaffolding and provided the essential heating for our works.
