Diagnosis

This complex of flats was built over an original water course. Water was entering the concrete basement parking area and poor repairs had been attempted to correct the problem. One of the following photographs shows the smeared application of an inappropriate repair mortar.

 

Solution

We decided to bolster all weak points in the construction by preparing the substrate and applying targeted reinforcement using Vandex BB75E. We formed waterproof junctions where previously there were voids. This has proved a successful and cost-effective solution and has returned the area to a useable space conforming to Grade 1 BS8102:2009.
